Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Military Operations.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and ongoing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any destruction is uncertain and the US has remained silent.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with notable success and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted debris fell on a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some material damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
