Slot Asserts He Is Secure and Has Liverpool's Support After PSV Eindhoven Humiliation

Arne Slot admitted that it's expected for questions to be asked about his position after another heavy defeat versus PSV Eindhoven.

Liverpool suffered their 9th loss in 12 games, marking the club's poorest streak since being relegated in 1953-54.

They were outplayed by the Eredivisie title holders on a difficult night at Anfield.

“I feel secure, I am OK, I have got a lot of support from management,” the coach remarked.

“It's important to reverse this trend and earn three points obviously but when you're coaching a team and not doing well then it is normal that questions are asked.”

He added, “I'm comfortable with my position. It is not the initial instance I've found myself in a challenging situation but it's crucial that we turned it around.”

Discussions with Liverpool Hierarchy

When asked to provide details on his dialogues with the Liverpool hierarchy, the head coach explained:

“There's regular dialogue. They are supportive for the squad and to me and we discuss these matters but they don't phone me constantly of the day to say they trust me.”

He further stated, “During our regular discussions I feel the trust. But I haven’t spoken to them after this match yet so let’s see.”

Persistent Problems and Squad Response

Slot lamented recurring failings from his team in their European defeat, specifically missed opportunities and defensive lapses.

Meanwhile, player Jones was more direct in his evaluation of the team's situation.

“I haven't got the solutions. Honestly, I don’t. I’m saying that to everybody,” Jones stated.

“It’s just not good enough. I don't have to wait to think about it. I’m past being angry internally. I’m at the point currently where I just don’t have the words.”

He continued, “It's difficult because I’m playing for the club I love. I support them, and I've watched this club for years.”

“In recent memory, I haven’t experienced a Liverpool team experiencing a phase such as this with performances like these.”

Jones concluded, “But we still have the crest on our chest. And until it is taken away, we will always fight.”

“Our aim is to help the side back to its rightful place, show everyone again what this club is about and why it's known as the top club in the world.”

“At this moment, we're in trouble and it needs to change.”
